Zahid to meet Anwar on issue of Negeri Sembilan government administration
Ahmad Zahid said the meeting will, among other things, discuss the action of 14 Barisan Nasional state assemblymen who withdrew their support for the state government led by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

KUALA LUMPUR - Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamid will meet Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to discuss the issue regarding the administration of the Negeri Sembilan government.
Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister, said the meeting will, among other things, discuss the action of 14 Barisan Nasional (BN) state assemblymen who withdrew their support for the state government led by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
Ahmad Zahid said the meeting with Pakatan Harapan (PH) president Anwar could be held at any time.
"I need to meet him (Anwar), and he needs to meet me,” he told reporters when asked about the issue involving the 14 state assemblymen in the Negeri Sembilan government administration.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Zahid said he would also meet all the state assemblymen involved to obtain further explanation from them regarding the matter.
"I have ample time for them (BN state assemblymen), and they can meet me at any time, either today or after this," he said after meeting senior editors of media agencies here today.
According to him, the Umno and BN leadership at the national level will review the decision made by the 14 state assemblymen and study the political implications of their action.
Earlier today, all 14 Negeri Sembilan assemblymen from Umno and BN unanimously withdrew their support for the state government led by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, citing an ongoing leadership crisis, and an official notification regarding the matter would be sent to the Speaker and Secretary of the State Legislative Assembly.
Aminuddin, at a press conference this afternoon, said he has been decreed by the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, to continue carrying out his duties as head of the state government and that the state administration would therefore continue to function as usual to safeguard the interests of the people.
Meanwhile, asked if the issue would jeopardise the stability of the Unity Government at the national level, Ahmad Zahid said the overall impact of the action would be scrutinised in depth, and that it would be referred to and decided by Umno's Supreme Council and Political Bureau. - BERNAMA
