SEREMBAN - Negeri Sembilan DAP has expressed its full support for the leadership of Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun and its commitment to the principle of constitutional monarchy amid the current political uncertainty in the state.

State DAP chairman Anthony Loke said the party firmly rejects any attempt to form a new state government through what he described as "back door” manoeuvres, following the withdrawal of support by 14 Barisan Nasional state assemblymen from the Aminuddin-led administration.

He said Aminuddin’s leadership must be preserved to ensure continuity in governance and to prevent disruption to the state’s administration and development agenda.

At an emergency meeting held today, all 11 DAP state assemblymen in Negeri Sembilan, including Loke himself, unanimously agreed to continue backing Aminuddin as Menteri Besar.

"For us, his position as Menteri Besar remains until proven otherwise. That is our clear stance,” he said at a press conference at the Menteri Besar’s official residence today.

Loke, who is the Chennah Assemblyman, said that a Menteri Besar can only be removed in one of two ways; through a vote of no confidence in the State Legislative Assembly, or through the appointment of a new Menteri Besar by the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, provided that the individual commands majority support.

Meanwhile, Negeri Sembilan Amanah chairman and State Assembly Speaker MK Ibrahim Abd Rahman, also expressed unwavering support for Aminuddin and reaffirmed his party’s commitment to the state unity government. - BERNAMA
