SHAH ALAM – Malaysia’s leading hit music station HITZ has officially commenced the second phase of its nationwide talent search, Next On HITZ.

The initiative aims to discover the country’s next fresh radio voice to join the station's lineup.

The programme follows several weeks of online submissions via TikTok, which saw more than 400 aspiring talents submitting audition videos in hopes of becoming the next on-air personality.

From these entries, 14 finalists have been shortlisted to advance to the next stage of competition at HITZ Studios.

The selected finalists are required to be based in Bukit Jalil from April 27 to May 8, with accommodation provided during the final week of the programme.

Throughout the period, participants will undergo intensive training and challenges designed to assess their broadcasting potential.

These include scriptwriting exercises, celebrity interview simulations, vox pop assignments and basic content editing tasks.

HITZ Brand manager Sean Farrell Matjeraie said the programme is structured to provide real industry exposure and practical experience for participants.

He said the challenges are designed to prepare finalists for the demands of a professional announcer role, with mentorship provided by the HITZ Morning Crew – Anne, Ili and Prem.

Eliminations will be announced daily via HITZ’s official TikTok platform between 8pm and 9pm, he said.

Matjeraie added that the winner will be receiving a full-time role at HITZ under a one-year contract worth RM50,000.

HITZ, known for its focus on music and pop culture, currently has more than 300,000 followers on TikTok and remains one of Malaysia’s leading hit music stations under Astro Audio’s network of 13 brands.
