“I failed to unite the Malays” – Tun M
He added that this failure could place the nation at risk of slipping out of Malay control.

KUALA LUMPUR – Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has admitted that his efforts to unite the Malay community were unsuccessful, despite more than two years of trying.
He said he had to accept the reality that the initiative did not succeed.
“I have worked for more than two years to unite the Malays. I must admit I have failed,” he said in a Facebook post on Thursday.
He added that this failure could place the nation at risk of slipping out of Malay control.
“This beloved country will be lost from the hands of the Malays.
“And that will mark the end of Malay history, because they prioritise the fate of leaders over their race, nation and religion,” he said.
The former prime minister’s remarks drew mixed reactions from the public, with many urging him not to place the blame entirely on himself.
A large number of users argued that the situation stems from divisions within the Malay community itself, citing self-interest over collective national and ethnic priorities.
