NKVE accident: Viral video shows car struck three times near Duta Toll Plaza, one arrested
Despite the frightening sequence of crashes, all drivers escaped without injuries.

SHAH ALAM - A multi-vehicle accident along the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) near the Duta Toll Plaza on Friday night turned chaotic after a car was struck three times within minutes, in an incident that later went viral on social media.
The Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT KL) confirmed it had detected a viral video of the incident, which occurred at KM28 of the NKVE heading towards the Duta Toll Plaza at about 11 pm on May 9.
Its chief ACP Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the accident involved a Toyota Hilux, a Proton Wira and a Proton Inspira.
He said initial investigations found that a Proton Inspira driven by a 26-year-old local man is believed to have skidded before stopping on the right lane of the highway.
"A Proton Wira driven by a 40-year-old man then crashed into the vehicle before a Toyota Hilux driven by a 41-year-old local man also collided with the Proton Inspira, causing both vehicles to veer to the left side of the road and hit the road barrier," he said in a statement.

Despite the frightening sequence of crashes, all drivers escaped without injuries.
"The Toyota Hilux sustained damage to the rear bumper, reverse sensor, front bonnet, front bumper and radiator. The Proton Wira suffered damage to its bumper, bonnet, left and right front lights as well as the fender, while the extent of damage to the Proton Inspira is still under investigation," he said.
Police have since arrested the driver of the Proton Inspira to assist in investigations. Zamzuri confirmed that the case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
As part of the investigation, authorities have retrieved closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, recorded witness statements, conducted a site visit, and inspected and photographed the vehicles involved.
Recently, a video uploaded on Threads showed two vehicles stopped on the right lane of Jalan Duta heading towards the Duta Toll Plaza after an earlier accident. The vehicles were a silver Perodua Myvi with its hazard lights on and a black car that had stopped across the lane.
Moments later, another car failed to stop in time and crashed into the black car, sending it skidding across the highway towards the road shoulder. Seconds later, a fourth car also crashed into the same vehicle, causing a chain-reaction accident that left both cars stranded near the left side of the road.
