Puchong timber factory destroyed in fire
The fire was brought under control at 4am and fully extinguished at about 5am.


PUCHONG - A timber factory in Taman Putra Perdana was destroyed in a fire on Thursday.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assistant director of operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the department received an emergency call at 2.05am.
"A total of 38 personnel and officers with equipment from the Cyberjaya Fire and Rescue Station, assisted by units from Dengkil, Puchong and Seri Kembangan, rushed to the scene 14 kilometres away," he said in a statement on Thursday.
Mukhlis said upon arrival about 11 minutes later, the team found the Class C timber factory 80 per cent ablaze.
"Firefighters carried out suppression operations using two hoselines of 61 metres with six nozzle jets, drawing water from fire hydrants and a water tanker," he said.
He said the fire was brought under control at 4am and fully extinguished at about 5am.
No casualties were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
