SHAH ALAM - Police have found no evidence of foul play in the death of a senior officer from the Selangor Police Headquarters’ Criminal Investigation Department (CID), who was believed to have fallen from a building in Section 14 here yesterday.
State Police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said the case was being treated as an accident as the victim, a 42-year-old Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), was believed to have fallen from the eighth floor of a building.
However, he said investigations were ongoing under a sudden death report (SDR), while the post-mortem process had been completed.
"The officer has also been laid to rest in his hometown in Kuantan, Pahang, yesterday,” he told reporters during a press conference at the Selangor police senior officers’ mess today.
Shazeli also urged the public to refrain from speculating on the incident in a manner that could tarnish the reputation of the deceased and his family.
"If there are untrue or defamatory statements, police reports can be lodged, and investigations will be carried out,” he said. - BERNAMA
