Hamzah has 'moved on' from Bersatu - Wan Saiful
The accusations made were baseless.

SHAH ALAM - Former Bersatu Information Chief Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan has denied allegations that Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin is using Pas and Umno as tools to divide Bersatu.
Wan Saiful said the accusations made by former senior private secretary to Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Datuk Dr Marzuki Mohamad, were baseless and described them as a desperate attempt to cover up personal shortcomings.
“I will answer this directly and based on facts. Marzuki accused Hamzah of name-dropping the Pas president and linked a meeting involving Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang and Pas leaders at the White House (Hamzah’s office in Bukit Tunku, Kuala Lumpur).
“I was present at that meeting on Feb 18, 2025, together with Hamzah, Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah and Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal.
“If Radzi has any dignity, he should be able to confirm what was discussed at the meeting instead of allowing Marzuki to speak out of ignorance,” he said in a Facebook post on Friday.
Wan Saiful stressed that Pas is not a party that can be easily influenced by any individual, given its extensive experience governing at both the state and federal levels.
“To accuse Hamzah or anyone else of manipulating Pas is proof that they are suffering from a serious state of denial.
“If Pas wants to reassess its relationship with Bersatu, the reason is none other than the poor advice being given to Muhyiddin by those around him,” he said.
According to Wan Saiful, Hamzah joined Bersatu at the invitation of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad during the party’s formation.
He added that the former Bersatu deputy president also played a major role in securing support from Pas and Umno Members of Parliament, which ultimately enabled Muhyiddin to be appointed Malaysia’s eighth prime minister on March 1, 2020.
“The narrative portrayed by Marzuki that Hamzah is ungrateful to Muhyiddin is nonsense because he has been one of the people who contributed the most to Muhyiddin and the party.
“It was Hamzah who persuaded Datuk Seri Najib Razak, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and coordinated with Pas to ensure Muhyiddin obtained a parliamentary majority. Azmin only brought 11 PKR MPs, while the larger political effort was carried by Hamzah,” he said.
Wan Saiful also alleged that Hamzah had made significant financial contributions to the party while serving as Bersatu secretary-general.
“Hamzah spent his own money for months to help keep party operations and Perikatan Nasional running.
“The party machinery survived because of his sacrifices. This was different when Azmin became secretary-general, as even the Perikatan Nasional office was not operational and was eventually closed,” he said.
In the same post, Wan Saiful claimed that the Larut MP is no longer focused on Bersatu following his dismissal and is now concentrating on the Reset agenda.
“We stand with Hamzah because we believe in his leadership and direction. Hamzah has moved on from Bersatu; he does not talk about Bersatu at all anymore.
“Marzuki should instead advise Muhyiddin to take better care of Bersatu and not let it reach a point where Pakatan Harapan (PH) refuses to accept its entry when the time comes,” he said.
