WASHINGTON - The United States (US) House of Representatives on Wednesday voted to restrict President Donald Trump's authority to continue military operations against Iran, with four Republicans joining Democrats, reported Xinhua.

The resolution, which passed 215-208, directed Trump to withdraw US forces from the conflict with Iran unless Congress authorises further military action.

Trump was overwhelmingly backed by his fellow Republicans when the conflict started.

However, as the conflict dragged on with no clear end in sight, some Republicans began to waver. - BERNAMA
