AGC classifies probe into intimidation claim linked to Azam as NFA
The AGC said the decision was made after reviewing the findings of the police investigation into a report lodged by businessman Albert Tei.

PUTRAJAYA - The Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) has classified a police investigation into alleged criminal intimidation involving former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief Tan Sri Azam Baki as "no further action” (NFA).
In a statement today, the AGC said the decision was made after reviewing the findings of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) investigation into a report lodged by businessman Albert Tei, whose real name is Tei Jiann Cheing.
The statement said the investigation found that the elements of the offence under Section 506 of the Penal Code for alleged criminal intimidation could not be established.
"Therefore, the investigation has been classified as NFA,” said the AGC.
On May 13, Tei lodged a police report claiming that he had received threats from Azam when he attempted to expose an alleged corruption scandal involving politicians in Sabah.
Last Saturday, the AGC confirmed that it was reviewing two investigation papers involving Azam, namely allegations of criminal intimidation against Tei and the publication of an article by Bloomberg that allegedly contained defamatory statements.
Meanwhile, Azam filed a defamation suit against Tei at the Shah Alam High Court yesterday over statements allegedly made and published about him, which he claimed were false and had tarnished his reputation. - BERNAMA
