SHAH ALAM – A viral message circulating online bearing the name and image of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, purportedly congratulating and endorsing Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin over the Reset Convention, is fake.

The clarification was issued by Muhyiddin’s media officer Mohd Ikhmal Abu Bakar, who said the social media post featuring Muhyiddin’s photograph alongside the congratulatory message was not authentic.

Earlier, a poster began making the rounds online showing Muhyiddin’s image accompanied by a message congratulating the Larut MP on the organisation of the inaugural Reset Convention.

The poster also contained several paragraphs in English, purportedly representing the Bersatu president’s views on the programme.

Among the claims made in the message was that the convention served as an important platform to discuss national reforms, governance, economic resilience and Malaysia’s future direction.

The poster further featured a statement allegedly attributed to Muhyiddin, calling on Reset delegates, participants and supporters to remain steadfast in supporting the struggle and aspirations of Perikatan Nasional (PN).

The denial comes amid growing attention surrounding the Reset movement and speculation over Hamzah’s political future.

Nearly 20,000 supporters from across the country converged at Kota Harmoni in Tanah Merah this morning for the inaugural Reset Malaysia Convention and was officiated by Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.
