Unable to endure verbal abuse and insults, elderly man stabs nephew
According to police, the suspect, identified as 74-year-old Shiro Imoto, allegedly stabbed the victim with a kitchen knife in the left arm and the right side of the abdomen at around 9 pm on Tuesday.

OKAYAMA – An elderly man has been arrested by police after allegedly attempting to kill his 46-year-old nephew in an incident in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, Japan.
According to police, the suspect, identified as 74-year-old Shiro Imoto, allegedly stabbed the victim with a kitchen knife in the left arm and the right side of the abdomen at around 9 pm on Tuesday.
The injured victim managed to flee the house and seek help from a neighbour, who subsequently contacted the police.
The victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment. However, police said the injuries sustained were not life-threatening.
It is understood that Imoto lived in the same house as the victim and the victim’s mother.
The victim’s mother was not injured during the incident.
Preliminary investigations found that the suspect admitted to committing the act and claimed during questioning that his nephew frequently hurled insults and abusive remarks at him.
According to police, the suspect was also quoted as saying that he 'did not care if the victim died.'
Police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact motive behind the incident and the circumstances that led to the altercation. — Agency
