Johor polls: Adham Baba makes political comeback as BN's Pasir Raja pick
He previously served as the Pasir Raja assemblyman for two terms.

JOHOR BAHRU – Former Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba is making a political comeback after being announced as the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Pasir Raja state seat in the 16th Johor State Election (PRN Johor).
His name was announced by Johor BN chairman Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi at the BN Johor Candidates Announcement Ceremony at the Umno Johor office here on Wednesday.
Adham, who is also Umno Tenggara division chief, has been entrusted to defend BN's stronghold in Pasir Raja, which the party won in the 2022 state election.
The seat is currently held by Rashidah Ismail, who won the Pasir Raja state seat with a majority of 4,888 votes after defeating candidates from Perikatan Nasional (PN), Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Pejuang in the last election.
Adham previously served as the Pasir Raja assemblyman for two terms from 2008 to 2018 before moving to parliamentary politics as the Tenggara member of parliament.
He has also held the posts of Health Minister and Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation in the Federal Government.
However, Adham was not fielded in the 15th General Election (GE15) before being given the mandate by BN to contest in this Johor state election.
