Onn Hafiz calls for unity among BN members ahead of Johor polls
The caretaker Menteri Besar stressed that the chosen candidates do not represent individual interests, but instead carry a major responsibility as a team representing BN as a whole.

JOHOR BAHRU – Barisan Nasional (BN) Johor chairman Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi has urged individuals who were not selected as candidates for the Johor state election to remain steadfast in supporting the party's struggle.
The caretaker Menteri Besar stressed that the chosen candidates do not represent individual interests, but instead carry a major responsibility as a team representing BN as a whole.
“To those who were not selected, I appeal for you to continue in this struggle. Our struggle is bigger than any individual or position.
“Even if only one candidate contests, what must win is the entire BN team,” he said during the BN Johor Candidate Announcement Ceremony at the Umno Headquarters here on Wednesday.
At the same time, he reminded all 56 BN candidates that their selection is not a privilege, but a great trust that must be carried out with full responsibility.
“Campaign with manners, discipline and wisdom because in Johor, we have our own way,” he said.
Also present at the ceremony were the presidents of the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA), Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC), as well as leaders from Parti Progresif Penduduk Malaysia (PPP) and Umno Youth Chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh.
Onn Hafiz also called on all candidates to offer the people a stable, principled government capable of continuing the state’s development agenda through the Maju Johor 2030 plan.
He stressed that BN has never promised excessive things to the people, but remains committed to working hard to develop Johor.
“To all Johor residents, judge us based on our work, achievements and future plans,” he said.
Onn Hafiz also urged all BN components to remain united and strengthen cooperation to defend the state of Johor.
