2026 National Day theme: 'Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati'
The theme "Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati" has been chosen for this year's National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations, while the existing Malaysia MADANI logo will be retained as the official symbol.

PUTRAJAYA, June 26 (Bernama) -- The theme "Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati” has been chosen for this year's National Day and Malaysia Day 2026 (HKHM2026) celebrations, while the Malaysia MADANI logo is retained as the official logo of the celebration until next year.
Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said the 2026 National Day celebration will be held at Dataran Putrajaya on August 31 on a moderate yet vibrant scale.
"The selection of this theme reflects the government's vision to create a progressive, inclusive, and harmonious nation, meaning that every individual can enjoy comprehensive well-being.
"The main focus of this theme is to ensure that prosperity is not just enjoyed by certain groups, but by all Malaysians," he said at a post-Cabinet meeting press conference today.
Fahmi, who is also the spokesperson for the MADANI Government, called on media practitioners to help disseminate the HKHM2026 theme so that its spirit and appreciation can be instilled in every layer of society ahead of the National Day celebration on August 31 and Malaysia Day on September 16.
He said that the list of programmes and activities throughout the HKHM2026 celebrations can be accessed via the official Merdeka360 portal.
Regarding any unique differences in this year's celebration, Fahmi said several unique elements are currently being planned, though it is still too early to reveal them.
"For everyone's information, programmes and activities throughout the national month will still be celebrated vibrantly despite being carried out on a moderate scale," he said.
Fahmi stated that the Launch of the National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang 2026 campaign will be held in Ipoh, Perak on July 18, while the 2026 Malaysia Day Celebration on September 16 will take place in Sarawak.
"The choice of Sarawak for the 2026 Malaysia Day Celebration aligns with the annual rotation practice of the celebration venue between Sabah, Sarawak, and Peninsular Malaysia, with the goal of strengthening the spirit of togetherness and unity among all regions in the country," he said.
To boost the HKHM2026 celebrations, Fahmi added that seven side programmes and patriotic activities have been lined up nationwide, namely Kembara Bahasa HKHM, Quran Hour, Ambang Merdeka (Independence Eve), Kira Detik Merdeka (Merdeka Countdown), RIUH Merdeka, and the Statesmen Commemoration Ceremony.- BERNAMA
