KOTA BHARU - Pas will decide its position on supporting Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) and matters relating to the Johor state election at a special central committee meeting on Monday, says its secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan.

He said the meeting, scheduled to begin at 5pm, would determine the party's direction.

"For now, Pas maintains the position previously stated by the party president.

"On Monday, the Pas Central Committee will meet and make decisions, including on other matters. At this point, no decision has been made," he said in a press conference, last night.

Takiyuddin said this after attending the Kota Bharu Pas division annual general meeting, which was officiated by Jerantut MP Khiril Nizam Khirudin.

He said the meeting would also discuss political cooperation between Pas and other parties within the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition.

Addressing the issue of using the PN logo in the Johor election, Takiyuddin said the matter had already been settled, as the candidate nomination process had been completed on Saturday.

"There is no question of changing to another logo. Today, 16 Bersatu candidates, 11 Pas candidates and five Gerakan candidates are all contesting under the PN logo.

"How can you change it when the candidates have already been nominated? That is the logo approved by PN for its component parties," he said.

Takiyuddin also said all contesting parties had an equal chance in the Johor polls, noting that the election featured experienced parties that had contested in previous elections, including the 15th General Election and the 2022 state polls.

"I think every party has an equal chance. We'll see how it goes," he said.
