Woman says she faced death threats, nude photos, videos spread online
The 30-year-old who declined to be identified said she had become the victim of cyberbullying by two online sales livestream hosts.

KUALA LUMPUR – A woman has claimed she was threatened with violence and death, while alleged nude photos and videos of her were circulated alongside various defamatory claims on social media.
The 30-year-old who declined to be identified said she had become the victim of cyberbullying by two online sales livestream hosts.
She alleged that the two men, who were also active as livestream hosts, launched personal attacks against her in an apparent bid to gain more viewers and followers.
She said the incidents began about eight days ago before she lodged a police report.
She said she had been informed that the two suspects, known as ‘Mr W’ and ‘Mr T’, were detained by police on Wednesday to assist in investigations.
“I previously worked with ‘Mr W’ during livestream sessions selling seafood and herbal products.
“However, he later claimed that I was selling products at prices that were too low and had affected the market before threatening to find people to teach me a lesson, including making threats to beat and kill me,” she said on Thursday.
She also claimed that she had been falsely accused of having an affair with a married man, leading an immoral social life and owing money to loan sharks.
She stated that the individuals involved had also claimed to possess her nude photos and private videos before the alleged nude images were privately sent to their followers.
“I stress that the woman in the photographs is not me, but someone who merely resembles me.
“In fact, the video that was alleged to exist never existed and was merely a screenshot,” she said.
The victim believed all the allegations were deliberately fabricated to tarnish her reputation and attract more views and attention on social media.
She stressed that many social media users had believed the allegations to the extent that her family members had also become targets of ridicule in public.
She claimed that ‘Mr W’ held livestream sessions almost every night and used insulting remarks about her as promotional titles to attract viewers.
“As a result, every time I went live, the comments section would be flooded with abusive remarks and attacks, to the point that I could no longer run my business as usual.
“I was also forced to stop my livestream sessions about seven days ago and estimate that I have suffered at least RM70,000 in lost income,” she said.
She added that the continuous pressure had caused her to lose her appetite, suffer from insomnia and experience severe depression, to the extent that she had contemplated ending her life.
However, she said the support of her friends had given her the strength to lodge a police report to defend her rights and clear her name.
