Polls closed, Onn Hafiz calls on Johoreans to unite and build the state they dream of
Onn Hafiz reminded newly elected representatives of the weight of the responsibility that now rested on their shoulders.

SHAH ALAM – Caretaker Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi says the time has come to set aside the bitterness of campaigning and unite in building the Johor that all its people have envisioned.
Polling officially ended at 6pm, today with vote counting now under way at counting centres across the state.
Based on unofficial results, Barisan Nasional (BN) is leading in 49 constituencies, with the Election Commission expected to announce the official results tonight.
In a speech to supporters, Onn Hafiz expressed deep gratitude to the people of Johor for the strong mandate given to BN.
"With full humility, on behalf of BN Johor, I wish to extend a million thanks to the people of Johor who have given us such an encouraging mandate.
"It gives BN Johor the spirit to continue serving the people and to address their issues even better. That is our commitment when given a mandate of this kind," he said.
"There is no power nor strength except with the help and permission of Allah SWT," he added.
Onn Hafiz also thanked BN's top leadership for respecting the party president's decisions, as well as component parties MCA, MIC and Friends of BN.
He also expressed appreciation to leaders from other states who had camped in Johor for weeks to campaign.
"And most importantly, from a machinery standpoint, this was made possible by the blessings of the grassroots, branch heads, Women, Youth, Puteri wings and the countless volunteers who worked tirelessly to deliver victory for our candidates," he said.
Onn Hafiz reminded newly elected representatives of the weight of the responsibility that now rested on their shoulders.
"The mandate given to us is a mandate to look after all the people, whether they supported us or not, that does not matter. Now that we have won, we will take care of all the people of Johor," he said.
He said the Chinese, Indians, Orang Asli and all communities were equally Johoreans.
Onn Hafiz said the responsibility now was to build the Johor that everyone had envisioned and dreamed of.
"Together, InsyaAllah. Once again, I extend a million thanks to everyone," he said.
