Melaka to ride on Johor's victory, Rauf says election is on
"We take the spirit in Johor to build up a good spirit in Melaka, Insyaallah."

SHAH ALAM - It is only a matter of time before Melaka sees the same result as Johor, said Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh, expressing confidence that the coalition's momentum from the Johor state election would carry over to Melaka.
Speaking to Sinar Daily at the Barisan Nasional (BN) command centre when asked to comment on when Melaka will call for an election, Rauf said the feeling on the ground in Melaka has always been positive.
"Feeling in Melaka is always good. It's just a matter of time. We take the spirit in Johor to build up a good spirit in Melaka, insyaallah," he said.

BN is unofficially leading the Johor state election with 49 seats as of 9.30pm. Negeri Sembilan is next to go to the polls, with voting set for Aug 1.
Melaka, meanwhile, is widely expected to follow suit, although the state assembly has yet to be dissolved. Its State Legeslative Assembly's current term is set to expire on Dec 30 this year.
