JEMPOL - The performance record of Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun since 2018 has become one of Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) key campaign focuses in the state election.

PH Communications Director Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said Aminuddin’s administration had achieved several successes during the period, including increased zakat collection, state revenue and new investments entering the state.

“We have seen that Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun’s administration performance from 2018 until now has been very good. Zakat collection has increased, state revenue has grown and investments have come in.

“Most recently, there will be a new port developed and investments like this will create additional job opportunities,” he told reporters outside the nomination centre at the Jempol District and Land Office Hall here on Saturday.

Fahmi said employment opportunities remained among the key issues frequently raised, particularly by young people in areas such as Jempol and Jeram Padang.

He said PH candidates would bring hope to youths through job opportunities expected to emerge from the state’s economic growth.

Meanwhile, he urged all parties, including social media users, to conduct healthy campaigning throughout the election period by avoiding the spread of slander, fake news and issues related to the 3Rs (race, religion and royalty).

He also hoped media coverage of all candidates would be carried out fairly, while the welfare of media personnel would continue to be monitored throughout the campaign period.

“We will campaign in a healthy manner, focus on performance and avoid campaigns filled with insults and slander, as that is unhealthy for our country’s democracy,” he said.

In Jempol, four DUN seats are expected to draw attention, namely N05 Serting, N06 Palong, N07 Jeram Padang and N08 Bahau.

For Serting, a three-cornered contest will see incumbent Fairuz Isa (PN) challenged by Yaacob Mahmood (PH) and Muhammad Noraffendy Mohd Salleh (Bersatu).

Palong will also witness a three-way contest involving incumbent Datuk Mustapha Nagoor (BN), Zahin Zinal Abidin (PH) and Rebin Birham (Bersatu).

Meanwhile, Jeram Padang will see a four-cornered fight between incumbent Datuk Zaidy Abdul Kadir (BN), G Manivannan (PH), R Sri Sanjeevan (Bersatu) and Dayana Dal from Parti Orang Asli Malaysia (ASLI).

Bahau, meanwhile, will feature a straight fight between incumbent Teo Kok Seong (PH) and Chong Fui Ming (BN).
