SEREMBAN - A man is believed to have died in a hit-and-run while putting up a party flag along Jalan Kuala Sawah-Rantau near Kampung Belangkan here on Sunday afternoon.

Seremban district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Yatim Osman said initial investigations found that the accident happened when a man was on the left shoulder of the road towards Rantau, putting up party flags.

"A vehicle believed to be a lorry, with its type and registration number not yet confirmed, suddenly hit a signboard pole and the pedestrian who was on the road shoulder.

"The lorry is believed to have left the scene immediately after the accident and efforts to track down the driver involved as well as witnesses are still ongoing," he said in a statement on Monday.

He said the collision caused the victim to fall on the road shoulder and suffer injuries to his face and head before he was confirmed dead at the scene.
