KUALA LUMPUR: Popular South Korean single-serving pizza chain Eat Pizza has officially obtained halal certification from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) for its flagship outlet at Pavilion Bukit Jalil.
The certification, awarded in May, marks a significant milestone for the brand, allowing Muslim customers to enjoy its full menu at the outlet for the first time.
The brand's name is inspired by the Korean phrase "pija meokda", which means "eat pizza".
Eat Pizza is known for its quick-service concept featuring signature 25cm rectangular pizzas designed to be eaten with one hand with each pizza is made fresh to order and served in as little as five minutes.
Following the certification of its Pavilion Bukit Jalil outlet, Eat Pizza said its other Malaysian branches at Aeon Tebrau City in Johor Bahru and Paradigm Mall in Petaling Jaya are in the process of obtaining Jakim halal certification.
Eat Pizza entered the Malaysian market in November 2024 with its first outlet in Johor Bahru before opening its Klang Valley flagship at Pavilion Bukit Jalil in January 2025.
The chain operates more than 130 outlets across Southeast Asia, reflecting the growing popularity of fast-casual Korean dining concepts in the region.
To commemorate its halal certification, Eat Pizza has launched the limited-time "Annyeong Halal – Seyo!" menu, available at all three Malaysian outlets from July 20 until Aug 31.
The promotional menu combines Malaysian flavours with the brand's signature high-protein dough and 100 per cent natural cheese.
Leading the line-up are two 25cm fusion pizzas priced at RM15.80 each — the Daging Rendang Kaw-Kaw Pizza, topped with slow-cooked rendang beef, and the Satay Smokey Pizza, featuring grilled-style satay chicken with peanut sauce.
The menu also includes Curry Puffs (five pieces) priced at RM6.80 and D'Bandung for RM4.80.
Meanwhile, the Pavilion Bukit Jalil outlet continues to offer Eat Pizza's full menu of made-to-order personal pizzas.
Among its signature offerings are the Korean Spicy Chicken Pizza (RM15.80), Sweet Bulgogi Pizza (RM15.80), Kimchi Bulgogi Pizza (RM16.80), Korean Hawaiian Pizza (RM15.80), Crispy Potato Chicken Pizza (RM14.80) and 100 per cent Real Cheese Pizza (RM11.80).
