JEMPOL - PAS Election Director Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has dismissed Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin's proposal to use the term Perikatan Barisan Nasional (PBN) for cooperation in the state election, describing it as nothing more than "wishful thinking."

Sanusi said the proposal had never been discussed by the parties involved.

"I've never heard of it either. Maybe he just came up with it on his own. It's only a proposal—there hasn't even been any discussion at that level.

"We each have our own parties. PN has its parties, BN has its parties. So where does PBN come from? There isn't even a PBN party. It's just wishful thinking.

"I see it as nothing more than an embellishment. There's no need to make a big issue out of it.

"It's not a policy matter. Nobody has discussed it. He's the only one proposing it," he told reporters after the PN and BN Grand Ceramah for the Jempol parliamentary constituency in Bandar Seri Jempol on Thursday.

Earlier, Hamzah, who is also president of Parti Wawasan Negara (WAWASAN), proposed the term PBN to describe the cooperation between the two political coalitions.

According to him, the name was intended to avoid confusion among the public over the collaboration between BN and PN.
