'The BN-PN cooperation is like the Titanic, it can sink any time' — Hannah Yeoh

She said this stems from both sides harbouring ambitions to become Prime Minister, leading them to trample on each other to reach the top.

SHAH ALAM — The cooperation between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) is likened to the ship in the movie Titanic, which is bound to sink at any time due to a lack of genuine political friendship.

DAP deputy secretary-general Hannah Yeoh said while they cheered happily at the start of their journey, they ultimately sank after hitting a massive iceberg directly ahead.

According to her, this stems from both sides harbouring ambitions to become Prime Minister, leading them to trample on each other to reach the top.

"Last night, I went on the campaign trail in Kuala Klawang, Jelebu to support my friend Datuk Ir Bakri Sawir, who is contesting to defend Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) DUN Klawang seat, which he won in 2018 and 2023.

"I also reminded those present not to be worried or overly excited by the cooperation between BN and PN.

"That cooperation will not last long because it is shadowed by betrayal and individuals who are not loyal to the spirit of political friendship," she shared in a Facebook post on Friday.

Yeoh added that BN and PN only cared about elevating their respective leaderships rather than ensuring the success of their coalition partners.

She explained that this is an accurate metaphor for the current alliance between the two coalitions.

"However, we in PH have remained loyal in our fight and supported Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim until he was appointed as the 10th Prime Minister today.

"We remain steadfast with only one captain steering the ship. Ensuring victory for PH candidates is a symbol of safeguarding the true value of political friendship," she said.
