LENGGENG - Wanita Umno chief Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad has urged the party's women's machinery to intensify campaign efforts ahead of the Negeri Sembilan state election, with a focus on defending Barisan Nasional (BN)-held seats and recapturing constituencies previously lost by the coalition.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Kenduri Sekampung programme in Kampung Mendom on Thursday, Noraini said she had instructed Wanita Umno members nationwide to work harder throughout the campaign period.

"Our focus is to defend the seats held by Barisan Nasional and reclaim those that were taken from us. That is the instruction I have given to all Women machinery," she said.

Noraini said Wanita Umno would continue its grassroots approach through house-to-house visits and direct engagement with voters, describing it as one of the movement's most effective campaign strategies.

To bolster operations on the ground, she said members from across the country, including Johor, had been mobilised to assist the campaign in Negeri Sembilan.

While expressing confidence in BN's prospects, Noraini stressed that success would depend on the commitment and hard work of the party's machinery.

"We have to believe we can win, but to achieve that, we must work hard. That is the message we have conveyed to all women members," she said.
