SEREMBAN – The presence of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Masjid Kariah Paroi Jaya here to perform Friday prayers was an unforgettable experience, especially for the children who were there.

As soon as Anwar arrived, he was greeted by the people there and cheers of excitement from the children at the mosque.

Affan Dilfiy Marzuky Erman, 10, said he never expected to meet and shake hands with the country’s top leader, whom he had previously only seen on television.

“I usually perform Friday prayers here, but when I saw many policemen, I realised that PMX was coming.

“I was so happy to shake hands with PMX. I feel like I don’t want to wash my hands for a week,” he said excitedly.

Another child, Muhammad Fae’eq Khalish Azharlul Aizat, 11, said he felt nervous when he saw the Prime Minister up close before getting the opportunity to shake his hand.

He said the moment was one of the most meaningful experiences he would never forget and that he would share it with his friends.

“I didn’t know PMX was coming here. I was surprised when I suddenly saw him getting out of the car. I’m still feeling nervous until now,” he said.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Azzubair Azhari, 11, shared the same excitement after meeting Anwar.

He said he even managed to hug the Prime Minister, whom he described as friendly and kind.

“I’m very happy to meet and shake hands with PMX. This is my first experience and I will definitely never forget it,” he said.
