Bersatu Terengganu in turmoil as three top leaders including Razali Idris resign
The crisis is expected to widen further after State Bersatu Leadership Council Deputy Chairman Khazan Che Mat also hinted that he might follow his fellow leaders' footsteps.

MARANG – Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Terengganu is facing a serious leadership crisis after three of its top leaders suddenly announced their resignations, leaving the party's state-level structure almost paralysed.
It is understood that the move began when the Bersatu Terengganu Leadership Council Chairman, Datuk Razali Idris, relinquished the post he had held for ten years, effective immediately.
Razali, who is also a State Executive Council (Exco) member, declined to comment further on the reason for the move.
He, who founded Bersatu in 2016, confirmed that he had submitted his resignation letter to party President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on 16 July.
"I sent my resignation letter as Chairman of the Bersatu Leadership Council to Muhyiddin in mid-July.
"So far, party headquarters, including Muhyiddin, has not confirmed or decided whether to accept or reject the resignation," he said.
He was met by reporters while attending a durian feast programme with the Terengganu Prime Media Club (METRA) and the Tourism Exco at Kampung Lubuk Batu here on Thursday.
The programme was also attended by Supreme Leadership Council (MPT) member Badrolhisham Mohamed @ Shafie and State Bersatu Allied Wing Chief Lim Chew Sieng.
Earlier, Razali announced his resignation while chairing the State Bersatu Committee Meeting on the same day.
He, who is also the state assemblyman for Kijal, confirmed that he would also step down as Bersatu Marang Division Chief on Sept 15.
He explained that the delay in his division-level resignation was to allow him to complete outstanding party administrative duties.
"I am only resigning as Leadership Council Chairman and Division Chief, but I remain a party member," he said.
The situation appeared to worsen further as two more senior party leaders announced their own resignations — Telemong assemblyman Mohd Zawawi Ismail, who also relinquished his post as State Bersatu Information Chief and Hulu Besut assemblyman Mohd Husaimi Hussin, who stepped down as State Bersatu Treasurer.
The crisis is expected to widen further after State Bersatu Leadership Council Deputy Chairman Khazan Che Mat also hinted that he might follow his fellow leaders' footsteps.
Khazan, who is also Bersatu Kuala Nerus Division Chief and Deputy Speaker of the Terengganu State Assembly, used an analogy to describe his position.
"I joined Bersatu in 2016 at Razali's invitation. If he resigns, why should I continue holding my post? If there's no head, the tail will follow," he said.
