Bersatu MPs reject walkout, call for longer debate on Tabung Haji RCI report
"This is an important issue for the people and there is no need for political drama."

SHAH ALAM - Bersatu Member of Parliaments (MPs) will remain in the Dewan Rakyat during the Special Sitting to debate the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on Tabung Haji, while calling for more time to be given for the debate.
Bersatu vice-president Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin said the report was an important matter for the public and should be discussed without political theatrics.
“Bersatu MPs are the Opposition. We will not 'walk out'. This is an important issue for the people and there is no need for political drama.
“We are even asking for the debate period to be extended. The people need the truth,” he said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
He also referred to an exchange in the Dewan Rakyat involving Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul, who had asked about the Opposition's intention to walk out of the chamber.
Kota Bharu MP Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan subsequently answered the Speaker's question with, “yes”.
The Special Sitting was convened on Tuesday to debate the Tabung Haji RCI report after the Government declassified the document, allowing its contents to be made public.
The RCI was established to investigate the management, operations and matters involving Tabung Haji's assets, including various issues surrounding the management of the institution.
