Father, son found dead in each other's arms in Tok Jembal house fire
The couple had planned to move permanently to her mother's house the following month, with Amirul already making preparations for their new home.

KUALA NERUS – A father and his nine-year-old son were found dead embracing each other after becoming trapped in a fire at their two-storey home in Kampung Tok Jembal here early Wednesday, leaving behind a grieving wife and a three-month-old baby.
Amirul Fahmi Wan Jusoh, 40, and his eldest son, Rehan Yusuf Amirul Fahmi, 9, were found dead on the upper floor of the house following the blaze.
Amirul's wife, Nur Izzah Ahmad, 36, who had recently given birth to their second child, was overcome with emotion as she recalled her late husband's plans to move the family to her mother's house after she completed her confinement period.
She said Amirul had spent the night at her mother's house in Kampung Paloh before returning to their home in Tok Jembal with Rehan on Tuesday afternoon.
“My late husband had given me a final message to take leave on Wednesday because our second child was unwell. He asked me to apply for leave today because Raees was unwell.
“I never expected that I would be on leave today because of the incident that befell him,” she said when met at the Forensic Department of Sultan Zainal Abidin Hospital (HoSZA) here on Wednesday.

Izzah said the couple had planned to move permanently to her mother's house the following month, with Amirul already making preparations for their new home.
“A lot of household items had already been taken to the house here. As I was undergoing my confinement period at my mother's house in Kampung Paloh, my late husband postponed his plan to move.
“The day before yesterday, my late husband came to his mother-in-law's house and spent the night there before returning to Tok Jembal yesterday afternoon with his eldest son,” she said.
The couple, who married in 2021, had two children, Yusuf Ali, 4, and three-month-old Raees Yusuf.

Meanwhile, Rehan's biological mother, Siti Nasuha Mohd, 32, who works in Kuala Lumpur, said her only child had sent a voice message expressing his love for his family on the night before the tragedy.
Siti said she immediately travelled home from the capital alone, arriving in Kuala Terengganu at about 8am on Wednesday after being informed of the tragedy by her mother-in-law.
The bodies of Amirul and Rehan were prayed over at Tok Jembal Jamek Mosque before being laid to rest at Tok Jembal Cemetery.
