Malaysia #QuranHour returns today with call to “rise towards a prosperous Malaysia”
This year’s theme focuses on building inner strength through faith, patience and compassion, particularly when facing challenges such as financial hardship, unemployment, poverty and family struggles.

KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysians are set to come together at Masjid Al-Sultan Abdullah at Presint Merdeka 118 here today for the 12th Malaysia #QuranHour, which this year carries the theme “Rising towards a prosperous Malaysia”.
The annual initiative is expected to bring together leaders, religious figures and members of the public in a collective reflection on how the Quran can guide people through life’s hardships, or “kabad”, as mentioned in Surah Al-Balad.
This year’s theme focuses on building inner strength through faith, patience and compassion, particularly when facing challenges such as financial hardship, unemployment, poverty and family struggles.
The programme draws inspiration from Surah Al-Muzzammil, Surah Al-Balad and Surah Al-Baqarah, highlighting the importance of strengthening one’s relationship with Allah SWT before extending that strength through acts of care and support for others.
Among those expected to attend today are Her Majesty Raja Zarith, Queen of Malaysia, communications minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil, former Johor mufti Datuk Seri Dr Nooh Gadut and Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation chairman Datuk Hussamuddin Yaacub.
The event also brings together representatives from the corporate, religious and community sectors, reinforcing the initiative’s message that values of patience, compassion and mutual support can transcend differences.
Through “Rising towards a prosperous Malaysia”, Malaysia #QuranHour 2026 seeks to encourage Malaysians not only to overcome their own struggles, but also to help those facing hardship, turning faith into meaningful action for a more caring and prosperous society.
