KUALA LUMPUR – Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, graces the 12th Malaysia #QuranHour today at Masjid Al-Sultan Abdullah, Presint Merdeka 118 here, joining hundreds of participants in the annual Quran recitation programme.

She arrived at the venue ahead of the programme, which is scheduled to take place from noon, with this year’s edition carrying the theme “Rising towards a prosperous Malaysia."

Themed around the Quranic concept of “kabad” from Surah Al-Balad, this year’s programme focuses on the hardships, pressures and struggles faced by people throughout their lives.

The theme encourages participants to strengthen their faith, patience and compassion in facing difficulties while extending support to others who are going through hardship.

Organised by Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation, the programme also draws guidance from Surah Al-Muzzammil, Surah Al-Balad and Surah Al-Badariah, highlighting the importance of building inner strength through a strong relationship with Allah SWT.

The initiative encourages Malaysians to look beyond their own struggles by helping those facing financial difficulties, unemployment, poverty, orphanhood and other challenges.

Also present were Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil, former Johor Mufti Datuk Seri Dr Nooh Gadut,

PNB chairman Raja Tan Sri Datuk Seri Arshad Raja Tun Uda and Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation chairman Datuk Hussamuddin Yaacub.

The annual gathering aims to inspire Malaysians to strengthen themselves through the Quran before extending that strength through compassion and meaningful action towards others.

This year’s Malaysia #QuranHour marks the 12th edition of the initiative, which continues to promote the Quran as a guide towards building a more caring, resilient and prosperous society.
