KOTA BHARU - Pas Terengganu has a candidate for prime minister from the state, should Perikatan Nasional (PN) go on to govern Malaysia at the upcoming 16th General Eection (GE16).
Pas Terengganu delegate Dr Wan Mat Sulaiman said this is based on the successes and achievements already secured in administering the state.
"We are not just playing identity politics. We are also able to prove that Pas has the capability to govern well and deliver the best performance," he said while tabling a motion and debating the president's policy speech at the 72nd Pas Annual Muktamar at the Pusat Tarbiah Islamiah Kelantan (PUTIK) in Pengkalan Chepa here on Friday.
Pas had earlier acknowledged having a prime ministerial candidate from within the party for GE16, though it said the time had not yet come to reveal the individual concerned.
Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang has said the choice of prime ministerial candidate will only be made after seeing the strength of seats won by the contesting parties in the election.
