Pas to send four leaders to Umno assembly next week

Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said he is among four top party leaders set to attend.

KOTA BHARU – Pas has confirmed it will attend the 2026 Umno General Assembly (PAU), which begins on Sep 9 at the World Trade Centre (WTC), Kuala Lumpur.

Pas Secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said he is among four top party leaders set to attend.

He said Pas hopes the Ummah unity agenda would be among the main issues raised and debated at the assembly.

"We believe that is an emphasis from the Umno president himself and that is what we understand the agenda to be. We were invited and we will attend.

"I am one of those attending along with other Pas leaders, but who the others will be has not yet been finalised," he said.

He was speaking at a press conference after the 72nd Pas Annual Muktamar at Pusat Tarbiah Islamiah Kelantan (Putik), Pengkalan Chepa here on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Pas deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man confirmed the party had received the official invitation, adding that the list of representatives would be finalised later.
