PASIR PUTEH - The process of moving a 50-year-old male patient from Hospital Tengku Anis here to Hospital Sultan Ismail Petra in Kuala Krai required special assistance from the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) on Sunday, as his weight was about 200 kilogrammes.
The transfer operation, which began at about 4pm and ended at 7pm, involved four APM Kota Bharu district personnel, including two officers.
Kota Bharu district civil defence officer Maj (PA) Mohd Arif Mohd Zin said a lorry was used to help smooth the transfer process.
He said the vehicle was needed to ensure the patient's handling and movement could be carried out more safely and in an orderly manner.
"The assistance was carried out in cooperation with the Health Ministry to ensure the patient's safety and welfare were prioritised throughout the transfer process.
"The patient's condition and body weight required suitable handling so that the transfer process could be carried out smoothly," he said when contacted on Monday.
