TOKYO - Two people were confirmed dead in Chiba Prefecture on Tuesday, local authorities said, a day after a typhoon brought heavy rain to the Tokyo region, triggering landslides in neighbouring prefectures, Kyodo News reported.

Two women, in their 70s and 80s, were pronounced dead after their homes collapsed in landslides, bringing the death toll to four, after Typhoon Dujuan passed near the Pacific coast of eastern Japan on Monday.

Six people remained unaccounted for in Chiba and Kanagawa prefectures, with a 51-year-old man in Chiba and a woman in Kanagawa killed in landslides Monday. - BERNAMA
