Jaya Grocer’s Instagram account compromised, fake promos posted

Retailer warns users not to click links, contact Telegram account or make payments

KUALA LUMPUR – Jaya Grocer is working to regain control of its Instagram account after it was compromised and began featuring fake promotions.

“The ‘Anniversary Promo’ posts offering gold bars, iPhones and other prizes, with a link to Telegram, were not posted by us. Jaya Grocer is not running these promotions,” the company said in a Facebook announcement today.

It urged users not to click on any links, contact the Telegram account or make any payments.

“If you have already responded to these posts, please contact your bank immediately and report the incident to the police,” it added. -THE STAR
