LOS ANGELES - Ryan Gosling's indie-rock band Dead Man's Bones is set to release new music, 17 years after the duo's only album, German Press Agency (dpa) reported.

New music from the band will be released on Tuesday, October 27, according to a video shared on Instagram by Gosling's wife, actress Eva Mendes.

"He came through on his promise to me," Mendes, 52, wrote alongside a video.

The duo, comprising Gosling, 45, and musician Zach Shields, released their self-titled debut album in 2009 on the Anti-Records label.

Described as "spooky" by music website Pitchfork, the album prominently features a Los Angeles children's choir. It was originally conceived as the soundtrack to a stage production about a love story between a monster and a ghost, according to the label.

Gosling has showcased his musical talents on several occasions, including a memorable performance of I'm Just Ken from the film Barbie at the 2024 Academy Awards.

The Canadian actor, who got his start on Disney's The All New Mickey Mouse Club, also performed City of Stars alongside Emma Stone in the 2016 musical La La Land. The song won the Oscar for best original song in 2017. - BERNAMA
