Najib's former wife Tengku Puteri Zainah in critical condition
Her eldest son Nizar appeals to the public for prayers as she receives treatment in the ICU at Gleneagles Hospital Ampang
SHAH ALAM – Tengku Puteri Zainah Tengku Eskandar, the former wife of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, is in critical condition and receiving treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) of a hospital.
The development was shared by her eldest son, Datuk Mohamad Nizar Mohamad Najib, in a Facebook post on Wednesday, in which he appealed to the public to pray for his mother's recovery.
“With humility, I seek prayers from all friends, relatives and acquaintances to join us in praying for the health of my beloved mother, Tengku Puteri Zainah, who is currently receiving treatment in the ICU.
“Her condition remains critical. May Allah SWT ease all her pain, grant her strength and bless her with recovery,” he said.
In a separate post on Najib's official Facebook page, a message was also shared expressing prayers for her recovery and strength for the family.
“We pray that Allah SWT grants her strength and perseverance, as well as the entire family, in facing this trial.
“May Allah SWT ease all her pain, facilitate her treatment and grant her the best possible recovery,” the post read.
Tengku Puteri Zainah is receiving treatment at the ICU on Level 1 of Gleneagles Hospital Ampang.
She is 65 and has three children with Najib, namely Nizar, Putri Norlisa and Mohd Nazifuddin.
