SHAH ALAM – Sunway Group has been ranked 26th in Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For Southeast Asia 2026 list, making it the only Malaysian-headquartered company among the 100 organisations recognised across the region.

Sunway Group founder and chairman Tan Sri Dr Jeffrey Cheah said the recognition reflected the group’s commitment to building a workplace where employees could develop and perform at their best.

“While business performance is important, it is ultimately people and values that define the strength and longevity of an organisation.

“We are humbled to be recognised among Southeast Asia’s best workplaces. It reaffirms our commitment to building a workplace where people can flourish and do their best work. Our journey over the years has been built on trust, guided by our core values of integrity, humility and excellence.

“These qualities will continue to guide our path as we grow alongside the communities we serve, and create opportunities for generations to come,” he said.

The ranking, produced by Fortune and Great Place To Work, is based on confidential feedback from more than 1.32 million employees across 10 Southeast Asian countries.

To qualify, companies must hold Great Place To Work certification and employ at least 200 people in the region.

Employees assess their workplaces through 60 statements and two open-ended questions covering areas such as trust, leadership, respect, fairness and pride.

The assessment also considers whether positive workplace experiences are shared consistently across different roles, seniority levels and demographic groups, alongside companies’ regional workforce size and the number of countries in which they are certified and surveyed.

Sunway said its people strategy was guided by its core values and the “Doing Well by Doing Good” philosophy championed by Cheah.

Across its 13 business divisions, the group offers leadership development programmes and opportunities for employees to gain experience across different functions and industries.

According to Great Place To Work’s published profile, 93 per cent of surveyed employees considered Sunway a great place to work.

The group also secured Great Place To Work certification for the second consecutive year in 2026.

The workplace ranking is among three Fortune recognitions involving Sunway this year.

Earlier, Executive Deputy Chair Datin Paduka Sarena Cheah was named among Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Asia 2026, joining four other Malaysians on the list of 100 business leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region.

Sunway was also named one of Malaysia’s Best Managed Companies 2025 by Deloitte, retaining its Gold status for the fifth consecutive year.
