The fallout from Pas' decision to end its cooperation with Bersatu has triggered debate over Bersatu's next move, with some leaders forecasting an exodus of grassroots support and others arguing it presents an opportunity for political repositioning.

Pas has officially ended its political cooperation with Bersatu, the party’s president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang announced today following a special meeting of the Pas Central Working Committee.

Growing unease among Pas grassroots over the party's strained relationship with Bersatu reflects genuine concerns within the rank and file, but any decision on the future of the alliance remains the prerogative of the party's central leadership, says Selangor Pas Youth chief Sukri Omar.
