Several teachers from Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Pangi went through an anxious ordeal when the train they were travelling on is believed to have suffered brake failure and crashed into a motorised trolley at Batu 11 along the Tenom-Pangi route on Tuesday.

The vehicle sustained damage, including a burst front left tyre, a damaged front bumper and a dented bonnet.

In the 11.20 pm accident, 60-year-old Abdul Rahman Yusoff, who was driving a Perodua Alza car, suffered severe head injuries and died while receiving treatment at the Muadzam Shah Hospital in Rompin.
