The Selangor government guarantees that no resident in Kampung Papan will be left without shelter, as temporary accommodation under the Smart Rental Scheme is being provided at an affordable rate for those in need.

The demolition of homes in Kampung Jalan Papan, Pandamaran, Klang, has sparked a tense clash between residents, developers and the Selangor state government.

Critics, including civil society groups and opposition parties, argued that the Bill granted excessive authority to the federal minister overseeing housing and local government, lowered the threshold of resident agreement required for redevelopment and risked enabling forced evictions without adequate compensation.
