Three Reserve Officer Training Corps (Palapes) instructors are expected to be charged at the Kota Tinggi Sessions Court in Johor today in connection with the death of trainee Syamsul Haris Shamsudin.

Syamsul Haris died on July 28 at Kota Tinggi Hospital in Johor after undergoing training at the Army Combat Training Centre in Ulu Tiram.

The High Court today dismissed an application by a father to exhume the remains of his son, UiTM Shah Alam Reserve Officers' Training Unit cadet Muhammad Amir Rusyadi Muhamad Zaidi, who died during training on Nov 13 last year.

Defence analyst Zaki Salleh said this system was widely practised in several developed countries such as the United States and in Europe.
