Five teenage girls will be charged at the Kota Kinabalu Juvenile Court in Sabah this Wednesday over allegations of bullying Zara Qairina by issuing threats through communication.

The investigation into the tragic death of Form One student Zara Qairina Mahathir centres on three key elements, namely bullying, neglect and sexual harassment.

The Coroner's Court here has set Sept 3 to commence inquest proceedings for Form One student Zara Qairina Mahathir.

Yesterday, Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk M. Kumar was reported as saying that strict action would be taken against the investigating officers and their supervisors following the findings of the Bukit Aman Task Force investigation team that there was non-compliance with investigation procedures involving Zara Qairina's death. - Bernama file photo

Zara Qairina, 13, was found unconscious near a drain close to her hostel building at the religious school in Papar on July 16. She subsequently died from the injuries the next day.
