Man breaks leg after alleged impact from world's largest tipping bucket at Penang water park
According to the social media post which went viral, the victim was struck by the force of water released from the giant tipping bucket.

SHAH ALAM – A family holiday at a popular water theme park in Penang turned into a medical emergency after a man suffered a severe leg fracture that required surgery following an incident involving an attraction known as the world’s largest tipping bucket.
The claim was made by Threads user @urm0th3rrr, who claimed her uncle sustained serious injuries during a visit to the water theme park on May 28.
According to the social media post which went viral, the victim was struck by the force of water released from the giant tipping bucket.
“May 28, 2026 at a water theme park in Penang, started as a normal family trip and ended with a serious leg injury, hospital emergency and surgery. At first, we thought it was a dislocation. But my uncle was screaming in pain and his leg was visibly deformed
“Before entering the ride, there was no proper safety briefing from the person in charge about the force of the water or how dangerous the impact could be. The only instructions given were basic seating and where kids should not sit,” she claimed.
She further alleged that another child suffered a minor knee injury at the same location.
Following the incident, the victim was taken to a first aid centre before family members repeatedly requested an ambulance due to the severity of his condition.
“We repeatedly asked for an ambulance because the pain was severe and the injury was clearly serious. We were told no ambulance could be called and they had to follow procedure.
“There were no stretcher, wheelchair or appropriate immobilisation equipment provided before my uncle was transported to hospital by a company vehicle,” the user wrote.
Medical examinations later confirmed that the victim had sustained a severe leg fracture rather than a dislocation.

The post mentioned that doctors removed approximately 70 millilitres of blood from the injured area due to severe swelling before the victim was transferred by ambulance to Kuala Lumpur the following day for surgery.
The user also questioned the attraction’s safety record, claiming to have discovered reports of other injuries allegedly linked to the same location.
“Seriously disappointed because no proper briefing was given and no proper actions were taken by their staff. This could have easily happened to a child,” she wrote.
As of now, the water theme park's management has not released any official statement regarding the allegations.
The attraction involved was known to be the world’s largest tipping bucket, which was recognised by Guinness World Records.
Media reports stated that the structure can hold up to 28,757 litres of water and takes around 10 minutes to fill before releasing its contents into the play area below.
The theme park is also recognised for housing the world’s longest Tubby Racer attraction, reinforcing its reputation as a world-class destination.
