Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has urged all quarters to stop making inappropriate comments on the party’s bid to seek a pardon for former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Amanah Communications Director Khalid Abdul Samad commented that a pardon for Najib will send a very bad message to the people, the national justice system, and the whole world regarding the attitude and stance against corruption and abuse of power. -Filepic

"If Najib is let off very early into his sentence, it would appear the unity government is not serious on "catching the big fish" but may be seen as keen in power," IIUM political analyst Dr Syaza Shukri.
