Sadao Police Superintendent Pol Col Bantern Laochareng said initial investigation found an explosion had derailed the freight train, with the shipping containers falling off the track.

The damaged and derailed train of the State Railway of Thailand that skidded following its bombing near the Khlong Ngae Train Station in Sadao, Thailand. The cargo train was en route from Hatyai to Padang Besar.
