Kuala Langat - Tambun candidate Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim told voters today that choosing a party should not be about race or religion as it involves Malaysian dignity.

"If the Pakatan Harapan candidate is a Malay, we choose him; if the candidate is a Chinese, we choose him; if the candidate is an Indian like Manivanan (Kuala Langat candidate), we choose him."

Anwar said that Malaysians should preach Islamic studies in a positive manner, not insult other religions but accept one another.

"Malay, Chinese, Indian, Kadazan, and Iban are my sons, so we should not make religion the biggest issue now," he said during his speech during the Pakatan Harapan (PH) campaign at Banting.

He said that the Kuala Langat people should not use the DAP as a major reason not to vote for Pakatan Harapan (PH).

"DAP is a party that accepts the Malaysian constitution; they accept Islam as the official religion; they accept Malay as our formal language; that's why PH took DAP as a part of us."

Anwar said that by choosing PH, they can rebuild a better government structure than before because he was a finance minister for eight years and has a lot of experience in overcoming economic issues in Malaysia.
