KOTA KINABALU - Umno's Sindumin state assemblyman Datuk Yusof Yacob had urged Sabah Umno chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin not 'disturb' Sabah government on Jan 1.

Yusof, however, said that the attempt to seize power from Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor continued which caused a political unrest.

"I adviced Bung Moktar on January 1 after coming back from vacation, I told him not to do it, be careful with this movement. We don't have enough (support), but he continued anyway.

"Then I advised him again on January 5 and 6 to follow the prime minister's instructions not to cause political chaos but he went on," he said when contacted by Sinar.

He said Warisan President Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal still does not have strong support to form a government.

"Shafie knows he does not have support, just do the math. Warisan has 19 assemblymen and BN has 18 assemblymen, it brings the number to 37. Add three other parties, the brings the total to 40 assemblymen.

"Just one additional seat to be form a government. But it is still unstable, if the one assemblyman runs, it collapses again," he said.

Due to that he said he does not support the move.

When asked over possible disciplinary action against him, Yusof said the disciplinary action should be applied to Bung Moktar.

"He should be fired if he violates the central directive. He is the one who should be fired, not us.

"Is this action approved by the highest council, is it approved by the President

"We are actually defending the image of Umno, we don't actually want elections?," he said, adding that politicians should be looking at cost of living, job opportunities and investment into the state.
