Police arrest Cheras condo tenant over discovery of cat carcasses

SHAH ALAM - Police have arrested a man suspected to be behind the case of the discovery of tens of cat carcasses at a rented unit of the Bayu Tasik Condominium in Bandar Sri Permaisuri, Cheras.

Cheras district police chief Assistant Commissioner Zam Halim Jamaluddin said the 31-year old man believed to be the tenant of the unit was arrested by the district police headquarters (IPD) criminal investigations department, yesterday.

"Further investigation on the case is being carried out,” he said in a statement, today.

Zam Halim previously confirmed that an investigation paper was opened over the discovery of the cat carcasses, however the identity of the suspect was still being investigated.

The discovery of the animal skeletons and carcasses was made following a complaint by residents who could not stand the foul stench coming from the unit.

They then contacted the homeowner who then went to check the unit rented to a man in his 30s.

On March 11, the owner was shocked to find cat carcasses inside the house.
